Google Merchant Center - Steps-by-Step Instructions


Step 1: Head to the home page of ‘ Google Merchant Center ‘ https://www.google.com/retail/solutions/merchant-center/



Step 2: Click on the button ‘ Sign in ‘ and select ‘ Sign in to Merchant Center ‘ ( see below screenshot for help )


Step 3: Login to the Gmail or Google Account through which you would want to create the Google Merchant Account.



Step 4: Once you are signed in, you will be taken to this page below. Scroll down this page for the next steps.


Step 5: After scroll, you get to see these fields.

Business Name: Enter the Business Name of the Store


Business Country: Select the country of the store, it is located ( mostly, it’ll be United States in our case)

Time Zone: Select the Time Zone of the Store


Step 6: Scroll further down the page to see these details. ( see below screenshot )



Tick the box that says ‘ On my website ‘


Step 7: Scroll further down the page to see the options. Skip this selection!


Step 8: Scroll further down the page. Tick this box. ( see below screenshot )


Step 9: After filling all the required fields on the Page, you will be shown this option. Click on ‘ Create Account. ‘




Step 10: Hit ‘ Continue ‘.


Step 11: You’ll now see this page ( see the screenshot ). Click on the ‘ Provide your website URL ‘ option.



Step 12: Enter the Store URL in this field ( see below screenshot ).


Your website address: Enter the URL of the Store


Step 13: Once the URL of the store is entered, you will be taken to this below screen, upon a scroll.


Click on the first of the boxes as hinted in the above screenshot.


Step 14: Now, you will be taken to the verification code page. ( see sample screenshot below )


Copy the code that’s displayed on the screen and create a ticket for verification.


The text you need to copy and paste, while creating the ticket should be only this portion highlighted. At a later point, once the code is added to the website, you can come back to this page to verify the ownership.


In the same ticket request the team to provide the Product Shopping Feed URL. You will need this before you can proceed further.



Step 15: Now go back to previous page using this option ( see screenshot )


Hit ‘ Back to Free Listings ‘



Step 16: Click on ‘ Add Product Data ‘


Step 17: Click on ‘ See all methods ‘ (see screenshot below )




Step 18: Choose the language ‘ English ‘ from the drop down.


Step 19: Tick the ‘ Free Listings ‘ and click on ‘ Continue ‘.



Step 20: Enter the Primary Feed Name as “ name of the store - Product Feed ‘ Tick the option ‘ Scheduled Fetch ‘ ( see screenshot below ) and Click ‘ Continue ‘ .



Step 21: Enter the file name: as name of the store


Enter the file URL in the second box field. (Create ticket to get the file URL for the store)



Step 22: You can ignore the other fields and just click ‘ Create Feed ‘ to finish the job.





Then, Google Merchant will process the product feeds in 24 - 48 hours.
