EMAIL BUILDER GUIDE
One of the best ways to stay in constant communication with customers is via the Webconsole’s Email Builder (liquorapps.com). This tool allows stores to craft tailored messages that go out to either all customers, or to even more targeted groups of customers when using the SEGMENTATION feature. Here’s a quick guide on how to use the EMAIL BUILDER:
On the left side menu, click Email Builder. From there, you will see pre-made templates at the very top, then below that, any custom-made templates that have been made in the past, and below that, an easily browsable list of recently used templates ...
Let’s say you pick one of the pre-made templates at the top, in this case, FLASH SALE ...
The first thing you will see when clicking FLASH SALE is a popup that will ask if you would like to add products. If you want products in your email, this is the time to add them:
Once the template is open, you will see boxes in the main part of the email that need to be filled out. To do that, drag the appropriate box from the right side to the spot in the email where you want it. In this guide, we will be showing only how to add PRODUCTS and the STORE LOGO, but the same principles apply to the other boxes. See below ...
To add the store logo, click the top box and it will open a new side menu. You can add some other images here, too, but to add the store logo, type [[STOREIMAGE]] in the box titled ImageURL. See below ...
Then, to add products, for example, drag the box that says PRODUCT from the right menu to the body of the email. At first, the products will be generic placeholders like the ones in the green box below. Click on them to reveal a new side menu where you can add the products.
You can then choose the products you added in Step 1:
Since we only chose 3 products and there were 4 columns in this template, you can change the layout to match. To do that, just click anywhere in that particular row and a new side menu will ask you what layout you want. See below ...
Now that there are only 3 boxes for 3 products, the layout looks good ...
In fact, it’s recommended that you only do 3 products per row to ensure the email will display properly for all email recipients. That is why you will see this note at the top ...
At this point, you can SAVE AS DRAFT and come back to it later or SAVE AND CONTINUE to advance to the next step.
If you click SAVE AND CONTINUE, the next step is to add the EMAIL SUBJECT, the SCHEDULED TIME TO SEND (or send immediately), and the TARGET GROUP that will receive this email ...
If you created a target audience by using the SEGMENTATION tool, that group will show up in the dropdown menu called TARGET GROUP.
For instance, if you wanted this email to go out ONLY to customers that previously purchased bourbon at some point, you can select that group from the TARGET GROUP dropdown (or just send to everyone). Here is the guide for how to setup CUSTOMER SEGMENTATION.
At this point, you can go ahead and send it to your desired audience or send a test email to yourself to see how it turned out ...
Again, for this example, we used the pre-made template called FLASH SALES, but you can use any template you want, or create your own from scratch by clicking BLANK ...
The best way to learn this awesome feature is to dive right in and try it out. There are many ways to use the Email Builder, and if done consistently, there are very few methods more tried-and-true to engage your customers!
